    i saw somewhere in the forum ,where the issue of .mdb recordset not being udateable but i really can not link the solution to my problem of shifting changing servers,coz there were talking about importing any table and updating any recordset ,but i am not getting it,so can anyone explain this to me ,that is if it applies to my problem...

    i dont know if this is the right forum,but i found it relevant
    i have easy php which im using to run an intranet ,but iam having problems in using the phpmyadmin ,to set settings for mysql,can anyone tell a way out,wen i try to access its configurationa the following error comes out:
    http://127.0.0.1/mysql page cannot be found what could be the problem

    yah i did that ,but when opening the database there is a message coming at the bottom that the recordset is not updatable ,and actualy one of the forms is not updatable but whaen i return the link to the original server this problem seizes to occur .wat cud be the problem...

    I would like to shift the backend of my access database from one server to the other,so i tried importing the backend tables from the current server to the new server ,but its now failing to link with the frondends ,is there a way i can do this or i start creating the backend tables afresh or wat??

    i have checked the examples and there seems to be some enlightment now,but still the issue remains,on the issue of the parameters,when i try to use my own host name,username and password ,there is an error that those parameters are not recognised and when i dont pass any parameters ie will be assuming that it uses the default parameters still there is this error CANNOT CONNECT USING ODBC@localhost .what could be the problem !!!!where do i first set...

    i have tried to pass some parameters ,but the issue is it seems as if there are some configurations that you have to do so that those parameters ie host,username and password ,will be recognised,so that is what i really want to understand....

    i installed easy php which has both the Apache and MySql server,but when i try to connect to mysql in php using the mysql_connect() ,im not setting any parameters there is an error notifying me that it cant connect ,are there any configurations that i have to do to the mysql so that it connects,im mainly concerned on the issue of clients who can connect to the mysql.pliz help

    i want to share my database on a workgroup,and curently i have both the front end and the backend on the workgroup server.The problem is when i share the frontend to the other clients ,the front end is failing to open ,it is trying to access the backend from the same directory it is on the server but this time looking on the client computer,and thus it is returning an error that the path cannot be found.in other wordas it seems not to link to the...

    yes i did,when i mapped it after the connection i then created another shortcut of the frontend on the desktop but still ,it is still attempting to open it from the c drive
    but when i copy the database from the server and place it in the c drive of the client computers ,its opening but the problem will be that it wont be updating entries that will be done on the server ,but as far as im concerned all network configurations are fine ,dont know...

    im using access 2000 for my database,the database is on a workgroup and there is a server hosting the workgroup
    i had previously removed the other computers of the workgroup and left the server in a bid to eliminate viruses

    on reconnecting to the server ,the computers are no longer accessing the server,they are now attempting to open the database from their own c drives lthough i would haved mapped them to the server.
