    in access go

tools > addins > linked table manager

refresh the link directory locations (browse to the new location)

Hi Bowtie. There should be no need to do anything to your backend database, but you will need to refresh the linked tables on the front-end databases, because all of these are now pointing at the wrong location. From the database window on the front-end DB choose Tools, Database Utilities and Linked Table Manager, select the tables that are to be relinked, then select the new location.

      Cheers

Since its OK on the previous server, I think it is more likely that your access rights to the DB on the new server do not allow read/write access, and you are opening read-only (hence no form update allowed). Could be wrong, but I doubt if this is an Access issue at all.

i saw somewhere in the forum ,where the issue of .mdb recordset not being udateable but i really can not link the solution to my problem of shifting changing servers, coz there were talking about importing any table and updating any recordset ,but i am not getting it,so can anyone explain this to me ,that is if it applies to my problem
