    database problem

im using access 2000 for my database, the database is on a workgroup and there is a server hosting the workgroup
i had previously removed the other computers of the workgroup and left the server in a bid to eliminate viruses

on reconnecting to the server ,the computers are no longer accessing the server, they are now attempting to open the database from their own c drives lthough i would haved mapped them to the server.

what could be the problem, could it b ewith the server or the lient computers, pliz help!!!!
Ask for clarity on naything that i might have not explained clearly

    thank you

Have you tried recreating the shortcut to the database?

yes i did, when i mapped it after the connection i then created another shortcut of the frontend on the desktop but still ,it is still attempting to open it from the c drive
but when i copy the database from the server and place it in the c drive of the client computers ,its opening but the problem will be that it wont be updating entries that will be done on the server ,but as far as im concerned all network configurations are fine ,dont know what else to do...

Have the users got a directory mapped to the server on their My Computer list? If so is it to that directory that the database shortcut is mapped?

If you right-click on the shortcut and select properties, what are the values (strings) in the following fields : ?
          Target
          Start in

These need to be copied / pasted directly into your post so that we have an idea of what you're trying to do.
We'll start with one that works (if you have one) and see where we can get from there.
