Technically not solved, but isn't causing any issues anymore, so don't know what to say. Everyone is scratching their heads over this one, so I'm considering this matter closed (and writing this so that I know I've wiped it off my plate.) Thanks! -
I was just going to say that foreign language support was lacking.
1) Make sure that the computer you are using, has all the support files it needs for unicode 8 and 16.
2) May I suggest upgrading for security reasons and because of better unicode support.Leave a comment:

How does one ban Windows 7 from automatically disabling StereoMix Conexant?
Windows 7 keeps disabling (every other time I turn on the computer) StereoMix Conexant SmartAudio. Is there by any chance a way to stop Win7 from disabling this? I am tired of having to reenable it every other day.
Thanks! -
why does Win7 say DHCP enabled in 2 place, but not in other 2 places?
Internet access at Dunn Bros.:
1) Internet works BUT {!} Shield shows.
2) Ran CMD stuff and it says that Dunn Bros. DHCP is NOT enabled and TCP is NOT enabled.
3) Right click and viewing status of Dunn Bros connection says it IS ENABLED.
4) My computer, when I look at the control panel version of dhcp and tcp, says it is enabled.
Why is MS so silly as to have such inconsistency?
I DID turn off...Last edited by Niheel; Apr 20 '12, 02:04 PM. -

Why does cookie code not work?
I was trying to make my website accessible for those who need better colour contrast by allowing them to choose their css sheet that would be used all over my website. I got the code off the web (2010 coding?), and that code DOES Work on the Main page, but the cookie code itself, does NOT apply the person's choices to any other page.
UPDATE: Do I need to put the cookie code on ALL pages? I didn't think I had to. Thanks! I did notice... -
HTML 5 and CSS3 Validated, Fixed Code...(forget the previous one)
FIXED CODE: Validates, and shows properly in Opera, Firefox, Safari and Chrome. The final code so that everyone who references my question, will have the final answer. Notice, I don't care how it looks in IE, as IE doesn't validate properly anyways.
It is NOT meant for any other purpose.
Code:<!doctype html> <html lang="en">

tpgames replied to What are some good U.S. colleges or universities for computer science / programming?in CareerI don't blame you for not wanting to go to MIT. A top school may be great, but if the school doesn't 'fit' your style, then it's not worth it.
Actually, where you go does matter. They have done studies on which schools succeed in having more students get jobs. Yale's Law School, had Companies lining up to hire students, trying to get them signed up for employment before they even graduated from school. Hamline University was ranked...Leave a comment:

Opera must have finally stopped trying to charge for you to use Opera. They used to have the 'paid' version and the 'free' version. I went over to the Opera site to get the full scoop. Here's what they said about how they make money, which means, that they are no longer trying to charge the user.

I fixed it, and both codes now validate. I won't guarantee Opera liking this code, but the W3 validates it and FF like it. :D
I should really download Opera, but as its wonky with Linux, wants you to pay to use the 'better' features, I quit programming for it. lol I oft wondered if the free version of Opera supports all HTML5 and CSS3 options that Chrome supports, or if some of those options are paid features only?Leave a comment:

I post the code in full, in case anyone else needs to look at it for learning purposes. :D

:P I just realized my dyslexia was kicking in. I was using "right" instead of "left". So, of course it was going to send the silly thing to the far right, when I used absolute positioning. ROFL
Okay, latest. Neither "max-width" nor "width" is having any effect what so ever. I want the left page stuff to stay only on left page. And, the right stuff to stay right and on the book. ...Leave a comment:

okay, how come when I play around with 'Position' in the "leftfirst" , etc. tags, the only thing that moves is theCode:<p> recipe blurbage </p>
I've noticed something else too...

1) The Navigation:
Yes, the font size does make the nav expand onto more rows, depending on how wide the user's window is. However, the font size is for readability for me and other users.
2) Content:
I thought that max-width would work, but apparently, it isn't. I really want it to be dynamic without it getting outside of the book image, but confused on that. Currently, reading more tutorials, and trying different...Leave a comment:

HTML5 and CSS3 layout is wrong
Okay, I admit I was lousy at DIV tags before HTML5. However, 4.01 is leaving us, and I'm making a new site, and wanted to do it right in HTML5/CSS3. Nothing fancy, just wanted...

i found it. lol I should have known it was a URL. I have seen something very similiar to it before. Anyways, I didn't find anything useful for the short key change, but I did change my default Character set back to Western. I did have it UTF-8, but I'm not really viewing my site more than other sites. lol
thanks!Leave a comment:

Sorry! Didn't work! However, I think its a Firefox coding thing that can't be changed through Mac directly. However, if there is a configuration file for Firefox that would be cool. I just looked and it doesn't look like theres anything I can change. :P Oh well. Thanks anyways.Leave a comment:

I thought in Ubuntu, you can right click on a folder, and change the permissions. However, when I moved unlocked folders to an external HD, Ubuntu will automatically lock them. Then I thought I was able to right click on those newly moved locked folders, and go into permissions, and reverse the lock. This was my experience using Ubuntu, but I was on an ancient PC, at the time. I forget how to right click on a mac, but I have a Logitech Mouse for...Leave a comment:
