I use an application on a remote server. The application is an old one, written in Magic.
I connect to the server (located on a farm) through Remote Desktop from a PC in my office, which runs Windows XP. In Magic I need to attach a file located already on the remote server.
The file name contains umlauts and other non-English characters.
I also need to write a comment to the attached file. In my case the comment equals to the file name. So I just copy the file name and paste it into the textbox (CtrlC-ShiftInsert, since CtrlV does not work in Magic).
Here comes the problem.
The file name is seen properly in the SaveAs dialog, but in the comment textbox it displays question marks. If, however, I type the comment manually, everything is fine.
No other application on the PC in the office has such a problem.
Now, I tried to connect to the remote server from another PC in the office, also running the same WinXP in the same language. Here comes a miracle - everything works perfect.
Any clue about what could be the problem?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Micky
PS I cannot check any other application on this server, since the only possible access is for that Magic application. The only difference seems to be in the PC in the office (although the connection credentials are also different between the PCs).
