    Pivot table

I have created a pivot table making reference to a query. It works perfectly well. However, when I go out of the database and then back in the pivot table appears as a "form". I can click on the "design" icon to change back to pivot table. It is however frustrating to have to do this each time. I have checked the properties and everyhting appears to reference to pivot table.

Can you please advise what I need to do to see the pivot table each time I click on the database button I bring up the pivot table.

I'm fairly new to Access, so a senior member may be able to give you more help, however, I'm not sure if you're opening form through a command button, but if so, in the macro>'View' select 'pivot table'. Then form should always view as pivot table.

A Pivot Table in Access is normally a bound Excel OLE object. Therefore, I don't understand what you mean. The only way it would appear is as an object on a form.

        Hi,

Instaed to open your table in Pivot View it's better to create a query using all fields in your table:

You enter in Queries, New Query, then you choose addtable bouton and you choose your table!

Then you click twice on * in the table that will appear!

Then you enter in the query properties window in the property Defalt View as PivotTable and it will work as you want!

I have tried various approaches. To date I have only been able to open the pivot table in "form view" which I then have to click on design view to "convert" to pivot table. This is really frustrating.

The pivot table is accessed via a button on the "switchboar d". I have used a query to set up the pivot table. No probs. When I click out of the database and then access again the pivot table reverts to "form view".

            Regards

              Hi,

Obviously your pivot table is based on a form!

              Good!

So go in your Form Properties in design view!

              Set the properties as shown:

              Allow Form View : No
              Allow datasheet View: No
              Allow Pivot Table View: Yes
              Allow PivotChart View: No

If you set the properties like this i'm nearly sure that you wouldn't have pb!

              :)
              Best regards!

I appreciate the above suggestion. I've tried this and the same thing continues to happen where the form appears when I go back into the database.

I am sure that there must be a simple reason for this. However........ ....

                Help
