I appreciate the above suggestion. I've tried this and the same thing continues to happen where the form appears when I go back into the database.
I am sure that there must be a simple reason for this. However........ ....

I have tried various approaches. To date I have only been able to open the pivot table in "form view" which I then have to click on design view to "convert" to pivot table. This is really frustrating.
The pivot table is accessed via a button on the "switchboar d". I have used a query to set up the pivot table. No probs. When I click out of the database and then access again the pivot table reverts to "form...Leave a comment:

Data base
I have set up a data base on Access 2003 so that colleagues can see it on an internal office network system.
1. When you click on it is very slow to open. Any suggestions as to how to speed this up.
2. Only one peson appears to be able to access at any one time. How do I open up database to allow same time access to at least two/ three users maximum. -
Pivot table
I have created a pivot table making reference to a query. It works perfectly well. However, when I go out of the database and then back in the pivot table appears as a "form". I can click on the "design" icon to change back to pivot table. It is however frustrating to have to do this each time. I have checked the properties and everyhting appears to reference to pivot table.
Can you please advise what I need to... -

Printing a particular part of a form
How do you print a particular part of a form. In excel you can go to "print area". -

Thanks. If you have the code that would be really useful.
In the mean time have you or any others used Active X control (DBPIX0 2.O control) or something similarLeave a comment:

Thanks. Yep! Tried that. I have gone back to basics since I was in touch last and re done the forms, connected via on to many, Auto number on the main form and connected to sub form by name "applicatio n" which is common to both main and sub form. Same problem.
If I input data into the sub form without connecting to the main form then it inputs data and photos sequencially. No probs. It is onlt when I try to link/ synchronise...Leave a comment:

Yes. However, that results in the same photograph appearing on each and every form. I also want others to be able to upload photographs onto the forms and not go into "design view".
I want a separate photgraph to appear on each form.
I have tried/ tested the Active X control (DBPIX0 2.O control) which does result in me being able to get photos on each form. This allows upload at a reduced storage.

Using the autonumber on the main form as primary key and then application on the sub form as the primary key; one to many. I click on the button input the photograph. I then go to the next main form and enter the sub form. The photo is as laoded on the sub form via the first main form. (The sub form is not sycnchronised with the main form.)

As advised by comtech (above) I have set the Primary Key for the main form as Autonumber (i.e CustID = Autonumber). I have then removed the autonumber form the sub forms and the replaced it with "applicatio ns" both on the main form and on ths sub form.
I have then used the autonumber on the main form as the primary key and the "applicatio n" on the sub form for the primary key

OLE bound photographs
I have created the appropriate table with the field titled "picture" and OLE. In each form. I have then create the form via a query within which I go to object, insert link and the photogaph is embedded. No probs so far.
I then click on tha navigation bar. I want to miss the next form as there is no photograph to insert. When I click again on the navigation bar to go to the 3rd form, I am informed " OLE object is empty.... -

I forgot to respond to a couple of your questions. The queries are made up from individual tables e.g. reports, photographs, notes. These are then linked together as one to many and connected back to the main table which is the "main form"Leave a comment:

I also continue to see "filtered" in the sub forms. If I remove the filter the data I put in for another entry reappears.Leave a comment:

The autonumber is on the main form. I have also created autonumber ID primary key on the sub forms accessed via the buttons. (The ID primary key on the sub forms were set up during the wizard process).
In response to the advice above I maintained the ID primary key on the main form and then created "number" (not auto number) on the sub forms. I received a pop up menu advising that "canot accept null value". ...Leave a comment:

Thanks. So I need to "disconnect " the autonumber/primary key on the subform? In the example re reports sub form I gave above what becomes the foreign key.

Thanks for the response. The main form and subforms have reference to the primary key which is the auto number. For example one sub form has the following fields:
Button accesses:
(Auto number)
Report 1
Date report returned
Report 2
Date report 2 returned
Report 3
Date report 3 returned
In the above I therefore need to provide a foreign key. Help
