    Motherboard Unspeficified

    Hey,
Today i came across a computer with unspecified motherboard. Nothing in BIOS. I tried PCWizard, Sys Info and unknown devices. The motherboard model is totally unspecified. I checked the motherboard physically and nothing there. The problem is i want to install sound and i dont know the sound device. If you can give me some idea, the hardware info looks like this:

    chipset: i440bx/zx-w977tf

No (as I don't know much about hardware related things).

But, I will recommend you to try Everest home edition to see if it helps and provides some information. EVEREST Home Edition is a free system diagnostics, system information and benchmarking solution for home PC users.

    Hope this helps...

I see nothing related to a sound device in there at all. Do you have any reason to suppose there is any built-in support at all?

Otherwise just buy a cheap sound card would be my advice.

It was working fine. There was sound and everything. Before i touched it for repair, a guy formatted it without collectin the drivers.

I'm sorry. It's going to be hard to identify the motherboard from just the information posted.

Generally you would find what the motherboard is and Google for drivers using the name.

Download and run Belarc from http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html. When finished it will give you a lot of information about your PC and will hopefully pull up your mobo info. From that you can try and hunt down your sound drivers.
