Going to sleep immediately at startup

I have xp home on my other computer. Before it can even boot up it says going to sleep and shuts back down. I can't even change anything in startup it goes off so fast. Any ideas as to why or what I may be able to do? It was fine one day and not working the next. Thanks.

    Heya, jimhun.

I'm going to go ahead and move this thread to the Windows forum, where one of our resident Experts will be more likely to see it.

DID you ever get a response to your problem?

I am having the exact same problem. My power supply blew. I replaced the power supply, and now I get the Going to Sleep, so fast I couldn't do anything.

I took the harddrive out and stuck it in another computer, and at least I can now boot into safe mode. If I tell it to boot normally, I get the GOING TO SLEEP, and it just goes around in a vicious circle. I'm ready to tear my hair out, which is not good, because I am bald already.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

          Thanks!

I'd boot in safe mode, as you have. Go into Display Properties, Screen Saver tab. Click Power... button. On the Power Options Properties dialog, go to the Advanced tab. In there, play with the "When I press the power button on my computer:" setting. Please let us know how this turns out. Thanks for posting.
