[Bhanu Murthy]

Dear Music lovers,

I want to copy one Music CD of my friend who brought from US. I want to burn CD using nero 'copy disk' option. I am not able to copy. Reasons displayed are read error in sector ... so on continuously,.. finally, it never copies. But the original CD, after installing, it working fine, but I am not able to copy/burn CD. Now they are out of sale, even to purchase.

Is there any way to copy.... the CD.

Hi
I am not sure whether it will work or not try this....

First make an image of that cd using nero. Then open the image using image drive. Then Burn that image to a cd..

Hi,

I've had a simillar problem with a disk... But this disk was special... There were some sectors with info then a lot of sectors that wasn't burned and then sectors with info...

And Nero gived erroro on prepearing the image...

Obviously the program that uses the info skips the error provoked by the empty sectors and continue to the next positions...

Strange...

:(

I would recommending buying this product called Disk Doctor it fixed my dvds and ps2 games, I've also heard you can use lip gloss.

The best thing to do in this situation is to rip the original cd with windows media player into mp3 or wma format at 192kb quality or better and then use nero audio cd and add the mp3/wmas into the new compilations, no more errors and no more extra software to buy.

Good Luck.

hy $ all

i had the same problem with some original cd too ( games that i recived wen i bought my VGA problebly my only original cds :) ) .
i couldn't make any copies of them .

but i did manage to breake ther fuking security : i oppend the cd with windows explore , copied the content in a folder on my HDD and then i wrote it back on a cd. it worked , my friends could instal the game but they had to use a crak to run it ( it asked to " insert the original cd ....... bla bla bla " ).

i have a great ideer how to fool the game that a pirated cd is original but to put it in practice i have to learn windows DDK ( driver development kit)

Dear Members,
It is great effort to find out the solution. But one thing, keep in mind
now a days.. great 'sony' and others are preparing software to stop pirating. They have burnt the original CD along with the key called 'secuROM' . This is protecting and disallowing to copy or burn the duplicate CD. There is time out for this program, a value is written, dyanmically changes.. and checks with in TTL exists, then it runs. Other wise NO. the pyrated CDs do not have such scope. Hence, it is not possible to copy such CDs. Any how, we have technical expertise. Let us see.. how much we will be successful.. but it is challenging to break it. with best wishes to all our friends.. mohan

Hi Mohan,

Thanks for the updates. I have came across an article saying that most software development giants have found a new technology in preventing software piracy by inserting air bubles into cd media. Good luck & take care.

Hi NeoPa, I think my problem with copying relates to recognition of the burners I am using by the software, which the Nero website says are supported. Until recently, I had no problem and, with the problem CDs, they copied and verified with no problem on another computer with Nero installed. The burner names are correct in the copy window and in the error logs, but I think they are missing in the cdrom.cfg file.I am getting a nero error 1064 and a win error 0. It also said in one of the error logs that "removed 2 run-out blocks from end of each track." Thanks for help.
