I am just curious to see what people think the ratio of Mozilla users is compared to Internet Explorer users is, I've always wondered.

It's still a matter of preference. I've used IE7 and was pleased with it, but I prefer Firefox's feel and the fact that all my bookmarks are still intact. Still, I'm not going to embark on a futile crusade praising Firefox and cursing IE - it's up to each individual.Comment

I have not used IE in two years for technical reasons. IE is nine years behind web standards and holds back web development. It hasn't progressed on the DOM since 1998, It doesn't properly support CSS as other browsers do, it doesn't recognize xhtml served as xhtml, it doesn't do SVG, and I could go on and on.
There is a reason why Chris Wilson, lead developer of IE is reeling from attacks by web developers and is desperately trying to save face. Market share of IE is slowly declining while other browsers are increasing. Two years ago, IE had 95% market share while today it is said they are 85% or less.
And I haven't talked about security yet.
IE7 is, verifiably, the worst browser on the planet. Please use anything else.Comment

I just got Ubuntu 6.06 which comes with Firefox, as does most all linux distrobutions. I must say I have enjoyed using Firefox ever since I started using linux. Although with Ubuntu it comes with Opera as an option and that is really nice too, I would use them with feeling but my computer slows way, way down with Opera.Comment

Firefox all the way because Opera works really goofy with cPanel. I like to edit several files at once, and have them all up on separate tabs. Opera puts them all in the same tab. IE? Ever since they decided to not support Mac, I've decide to boycott them. I haven't even bothered to make my website IE compliant. Nor, have I tried to make it Safari or Opera compliant. It just happens that Firefox likes my coding better. Eventually, I will get my site working for Opera, but not Safari for a very long time. They have too many bugs.
Security: I won't even touch IE in this area. Let's just say that there's a reason why a specific cartoon mentioned Microshaft couldn't pay for all the bugs people would find, if they had offered a reward. Can't think of the name of the cartoon, and I can't do it justice here. Sorry! My apologies to the author of the cartoon! You are very good! It's something friendly.org??? :>)
My opinion on why most people use IE: They are usually not techies, not programmers, and not up and up on the ins and outs of computers and various browsers. They can name them, but really don't know the scoop and hubbub being said about the various browsers. IE came with their computer, and they just simply use it. However, as people get more techonological advanced, and more use to computers and all, I do believe that more people will run from IE.Comment
