BTW, I did read 15 pages of posts back, looking for similar problems.
Problem No 2 is that I cannot seem to post announcements. I have looked all over to see if there is a switch that needs to be turned on or something.
My announcements are translated into:
[delete]

[delete]
which is unhelpful to me. any advice would be gratefully appreciated.

Newbie problem with Title of main page
I have two or three web-sites which were set up by a programmer who I cannot contact. I scrubbed the content out of one, and made some changes.
I have the sneaky feeling there is some kind of superadmin status needed to change the title of the page, and I have been unable to uncover this.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
