Hi All,
I have the below macro that I've been using to select data from a sheet, copy the data, open a new workbook, paste special values and format columns C & D to date format. This works perfectly as is, however, instead of the filename for the new workbook being based off of cell H1 in worksheet "Upload to NBI" I would like it to be based on cell B10 from the "Contacts" sheet. I tried using Sheets ("Contacts").Ra nge...

I fixed this error! I just had to delete the .exd files from my C drive. I'm now getting a -1517 reserved error but only for one of the four Excel templates that we use. The other 3 are working just fine. This new error is happening across all computers (not just mine) and began before I fixed the error only occurring on my computer. -
You have to forgive me as I'm not that familiar with Access. There is no 'Debug' prompt that appears and this database has been in use for years with no issues so I don't think its a coding error.
I updated to Access 2010 months ago but I've had no issues until yesterday and Excel has not been updated.
Just to give you a little more information the error occurs when the Access program tries to send the results produced...Leave a comment:

I've been using my access program all day and my co-worker is using it currently with no issues. I keep getting the error "class does not support automation or does not support expected interface". Can someone help?! It's an extremely busy time of year and I need this tool to complete my work. Thanks! -

I'm still not finding anything under the 'File' tab...can you be more specific as to where you're seeing this?Leave a comment:

Hmmm...I'm not getting that option when I open the file. I remember at my old job we had spreadsheets with that prompt when you opened the file, so I guess my question is how do I get the spreadsheet to prompt a refresh when it is opened? I'm using Excel 2010 by the way.Leave a comment:

Yes, for example each client has a spreadsheet associated with it to track tasks and their completion dates. We wanted a centralized place so that each consultant could track tasks across all clients by looking in one place.
So the template is a personal tool to be used by each consultant. Only one consultant would be accessing the file at a time.Leave a comment:

Yeah I thought there was a setting for that also but I can't seem to find it.
It's not really data sharing, it's more of a tracking device so one person can monitor their work across multiple spreadsheets.Leave a comment:

It does but I would like the data to refresh automatically. Some of my coworkers who will be using the spreadsheet are not that familiar with Excel so I'd like to automate things as much as possible.Leave a comment:

How do I get imported data to refresh each time the Excel file opens?
I have a template that will be used to track data across multiple outside spreadsheets. The outside spreadsheets will be imported to different tabs of the template.
I know that once the data is imported, the connection properties can be adjusted so that the data refreshes when the template file is opened, however, this is tedious as new data imports will be added constantly.
Is there a way to get the template file... -
Those options are unavailable when the option button is selected.Leave a comment:

How do I change the font size of an option button form control?
I'm using option button form controls in Excel and I can't seem to figure out how to change the font size. When I right click, there is a 'format control' option, however, there is no font options within this option. Can someone please help?? -
Better yet, instead of separate tabs...what about separate files? Each file is based on a template so they all have the same layout. Is there a way to input the file location (in a cell or via a macro) and have the data automatically pull from the pre-determined cell locations in those files? The data from each file would be on a separate row in the master worksheet.Leave a comment:

Referencing Tabs in Excel without Manually Input
I'm trying to create an Excel spreadsheet that will reference the same cell in different tabs, without having to manually select the data within each tab.
I'm creating a row for the data from each tab and would like the spreadsheet to pull information from those tabs. For example, I would like cell A1 on 'Sheet1' to pull in data from the 'Sheet2' tab cell B4, cell A2 on 'Sheet1' should pull in 'Sheet3' B4 and so on. The cell will be... -
Ok, great. Thanks! At least I can fix the errors as they occur in certain objects rather than jeopardize the whole database's functionality. This will do for now. I appreciate everyone's help!!Leave a comment:

One more question...Is there a way to change a field's data type through a query? This would allow me to alter the data without affecting other parts of the database.Leave a comment:

I think you're right, GKJR. I don't think I'm going to mess with this since the database in question is just too important to too many people and is used on a daily basis.
I think this one is over my head. I'm glad I asked before making a potentially huge mistake. Thanks all for your quick responses!!Leave a comment:

Is there a quick and easy way to check for joins? There are simply too many queries for me to check through them one by one.Leave a comment:
