Test for Recordset = Nothing?
Sorry folks, none of the suggestions above (not even the claimed failsafe ones) will work if the recordset is set to Nothing.
How do you test for that?

You can also use
If rsNew.State = 1 then 'if open then
Unfortunately none of the suggestions above will work if the recordset is NULL, i.e. Set rsNew = Nothing.
