I am using Access 2003
I have been playing with DLookup all morning and have not been successful yet. I have never used this function...and have some limited experience with code. I will post what I have tried so far and hopefully someone can help me problem solve.
I have tried three different methods... (I know Calculation is spelled wrong..I have to go through my database and fix it...

Hello..
I know this has been asked before but i was hoping someone could help me with the codes to have one text or combo box be mandatory to get access to other fields in the form...all others maybe grayed out... until that one box is filled in.

Autonumber Restart
Is there a way to Autonumber (ex 1, 2, 3 etc) but have it reset to start again at 1 on the change of two fields? Ill try to explain..

Visible field question
I have fields that are set to be visible or not visible based on the value of another field. These results are displayed in a continuous subform. It works fine except that it only displays the visibility results for the first entry in the sbuform! If the field is set to Yes, all results display for yes, but will change to No when I click on that record (and changes all records to reflect "No". How can I make the records reflect the... -
Info on form to enter into table
Hello...
Is it possible to have a field on a form copied from another form (aka =[forms]![formname]![fieldname]) enter that data that it copies into a table even though it is just a reference? I need that information in a table to keep the relationship, but don't want users to have to type it into the form.
I tried playing with append and make table queries but have never used either and was not very successful. Any... -
Subform will not enter data
I have a form that displays data. I have a subform I created in the form, saved, deleted from form layout, and a command button that opens that subform. It works perfectly until I try to enter the information into the subform and save it. I get an error when trying to tab out of the subform which states "The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find a record in the table 'Calculation Lookup Table' with key matching field(s) 'Subfunctions.S ubCCN'."... -
Option Frame linked to Tab Control
Hello!
I want to link my option frame (named AlgorithmOption ) of Yes/No Radial Buttons to control which tab is displayed in my Tab Control section.
I think I put the code in the AfterUpdate Event Procedure of my OptionFrame .. but need some clarification.
I am trying to link the Yes radial (which inputs in the table as a value of -1) to the tab 1 labeled Algorithm.

Summing calculated data in a form
Hello!
I have successfuly added a calculation field to a query and inserted that field into my form. It works perfectly. I now need to be able to sum fields of that calculated data in a form based on how it is grouped out. I copied the northwind database to get ideas, which is how i inserted the calculation into the query...but did the exact same thing as the sample database for the sum and it didnt work!

Huh? I think I am confused now.
Previously I had three forms....One main form with information and a choice of Yes/No. When Yes was selected a form popped up for data entry. When No was selected a different form popped up for data entry. The problem was there was no link to the parent form so the data entered was not going to the tables.
When I used the subform wizard, it insered the form I chose into the main form....Leave a comment:

Linking Child and Parent Fields

JPEG images
I would like to incorporate JPEG images into a database instead of BMPs. I know MS Office should be able to pull Photo Editor off of the startup CD, but if that is not an option what type of program should I consider? Are there downloadable options to allow the images or is there a program to purchase? Thanks. -
Caclulation rollup?
I am trying to add calculations to a table. I have run the query to reflect the sum needed among different 'subfunctions'. The subfunction table is linked to the main table dependent on two diff fields. Now that i have my sum based on the subfunctions that roll up into the main table...how do i store that sum in the main table? Does this make sense?

Yes...That worked in its own form. Will this work in a more complex form? I want to autopoulate for just one part of the form based on a my query, but the rest of the report pulls from a table.
On another note...I inserted a subform into my main form. When I enter data into the subform it stores the data in the table like it should. Is there a way to link the other data in the form (that pertains to all records in the subform)...Leave a comment:
