swf file won't fit in css layout

    Hello,
I designed my home page in css and am replacing one of the images with a swf. It's the same dimensions as the jpg, I put no borders, but it still expands the space of the swf somehow and shifts over the other divs. Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Code:

    <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
    <html

So since you say it depends on what the server script does, and since I work with different clients who choose to be on different servers, there isn't a general form language I can use all the time. See, I'm not a coder at all. I can edit the code I create in Dream Weaver, but I can't really write it from scratch so when my forms don't work, it's very hard for me to figure out why? Hence, I can't figure out why this form won't work.

    Thank you for your reply.

Ultimately, when I click submit, it no longer works and I don't know what part of the code isn't communicating with the servers correctly because I'm coming into this in the middle of the project and forms are definitely not my strong point. The hosting company was not much help other than telling me they were php based. It seems every client I have uses a different hosting service and I can never use the same...

    help creating form for website

    Hello,
I'm more of a graphic web developer than intricate coder web developer so I don't host my clients sites. Each time a client wants a form it's with a different hosting service which has a different way to use forms. Again I'm having a problem with a new site I was thrown into, and I can't seem to make their form work. So I've tried some that have worked for me in the past but it's always hit or miss and a lot of wasted time. Do you...

  • how to replace my hard drive on an old mac?

I'm not positive I need to replace it, but that is my best conclusion. Here's how I came to that idea do you agree?

I was unable to upgrade the computer to the new flash plugin. It wouldn't work or anything else I tried to download either. There would always be some sort of error.

I tried re-installing OS X but couldn't get past the "reinstall" button without getting a black screen that said it couldn't find...

  • need to re-install mac OS X on old G3 - but computer won't recognize install CD

I have an old mac 3.1 that currently has OS X on it, but it won't let me download anything new to it, for instance the newest flash player. It doesn't recognize anything so from some trouble shooting, I tried using disk utility to repair the hard drive. While it repaired everything, there weren't any warnings of things that couldn't be fixed. However, when I put in the install mac os x cd and go to "install" where it restarts the computer,...

  • I would agree and that makes sense. I'm sorry, I've never heard or resetting css before. I did some research and it seems to be controversial or at least I don't know how I would do it without messing everything else up. I tried putting padding and margins at 0 doesn't seem to help either so do you have more insight of what I need to do reset the css and then what else I need to do? Again, sorry if this is sort of basic.

  • Hey, actually your new margin code to align my divs centered allowed me to figure out the rest of it, plus it's much simpler than the original method I found. However, now it doesn't seem to go up to the very top. Do you have a solution for that. I've updated the site now at the same address:

Thanks again for all your help. I really appreciate it....

  • No, my original intent was for them to extend to the bottom of the page so it appears they are laying over the horizontal footer pipe.

  • Thank you so much for your input. I got the links styles to work correctly. I don't know if it's the most efficient code, but at least the problem is fixed.

Any more thoughts on the getting the pipes to expand to the bottom of the content (your guess on my intent was correct) At least at first attempts, removing my absolute positioning for those two divs makes the layout all off centered. (That was my original intent of using the absolute...

  • How to expand container with text & links to have different colors?

    Hello,
I've been searching over lots of forums for this solution and I can't seem to make any of the solutions work for me. This is my first time I'm posting a question and I'm also far from a css expert , but really am trying to convert my main layouts over from tables. Basically I need my #outerpermiter div which has a vertically repeating background to have a minimum height but expand when needed. Maybe I'm having trouble because I'm using...
