Although every setup tends to be a bit different, here's what I do:
Click print, then Properties. Adobe Standard 8.x has some drop-down's. Mine has 4, and the top one is the printing profile. It's probably set to "Standard." Click edit and you should be able to find where to change the dpi. Save your new settings as a print profile so that you can refer back to it later. It's a bit late, but... I've found that if you reduce the pixel density (I use 300dpi instead of the default 600dpi) it pretty much gets rid of the problem.
