i know how to code in c...In fact i've dng the socket programming for FTP and UDP etc...also process creation and shell proggmng i knw..... I just need t know how to begin with the coding of kernel and also wat are the basic components of kernel. I just want to develop a basic kernel. means not much complex. Its just a one year or 8 months project work....
ALso kernel.org is not workng fine......

Designing a kernel
Helllo,
I m currently in my junior year and soon entering into final year in which i have to work on a project.
I'm interested in building a KERNEL of my own. So i need help regarding the basic components and the stages for buliding a kenrel.
Also if an open source ex code is available then it would be very convinient for me to study that and design the kernel.
I am thinking of writing the code in C\C++ or JAVA...Please... -
