Thanks for the quick reply. I went to your suggested link and 23 pages later...Is the OCT something I have to download separate, or is it included with the Office 2007 package? I still run everybody pretty much on Office 2003 exept for the access app which is access 2007. Don't mean to seem lazy but I am trying to get the answers without doing 4 hours of research.
You guys are great.
thanks

Access 2007 and UNC
My company is changing our network arrangement and I have an Access 2007 app on a server. Initially, the install sequence, as set up with the installer, used a drive letter common to all users. The new IT guys want me to change to UNC. Will 2007 take UNC i.e. \\servername\fo lder in the installation setup?

Thanks for all your help. I now have a log-in table complete with date/time stamp. I also have a delete query based on the login form to delete the user from the login table when they leave the program. Works wonderful until I convert to runtime. For some reason, the delete query doesn't work. The BE is on a separate drive (F:\) and the FE is on the C:\ Do I lose some functionality when running 2007 runtime?

Whos On Log
Good Morning
I am using Access 2007 and all users are on the runtime version on a network, with FE and BE. Everybody on XP Pro
I would like to know what users are on the program at any given time. I have created a tblUserOn and the user is added to the table when he logs on ..no problem. The user triggers a delete query when he exits the program to remove his name from the table. I would like to add one more field... -
Improper Closing
Good morning.
I am using Access 2007 with all users running runtime. I created a login table that functions very well by adding logins and deleting logins as people log in and out of the application. However, many users, inspite of my many emails, insist on just closing out the program by "X" the whole window rather than using the appropriate "Quit" buttons on the form. When the user just closes the whole program,... -

I don't write much SQL. what is the code to remove the name and ID from the table on Log Off?

I was wondering if it contained info about what user is on the program. If I needed to do some mods or updates, I could call that person to ask them to get out of the program. A user log would be better which I've been experimenting around with but haven't figured it out yet.

This is how I do it
I'm sure many of us have the same issue. My BE tables are in a protected drive f:. I load the new version of the front end on the same drive. Each user has a dos cmd routine that loads the latest version from the F:\ to the c:\ of the current user and then runs the application.
I call it launchtk.cmd and it looks something like this

Access 2007/Server 2003
Good morning.
I have an interesting chain of events.
My 2007 program has been working fine on a network. I have a split database with tables on F:\timekeeper and front end on terminal server ""c:\programs\t imekeeper." just like in the past.
Have a small .cmd routine to insure that user has connection to F:\timekeeper.
We have been using remote access for connection from... -
CheckBox
Quick question (hopefully)
Using Access 2007.
I am using a checkbox to trigger an event.
My question is, I would like the check box to be larger....I can't seem to find any attribute or property that will effectively change the size of the check box.
I can change the border size....but not the box itself.
Thanks

Folder Security
Good morning.
I have multiple users on XP machines. Our network is server 2003. I am creating a group of folders with sensitive information that I want available only to a select group of users. I would like to create a permissions group of these users to be able to assign permissions to these folders as a group as opposed to adding their individual names every time I create one of these sensitive folders. and I want everybody... -
Search
I run Access 2007. I have decided to change the name of a table field....yeah I know but I used a key word "date" for one of the fields and now that I am doing some date math, it creates a very confused program. I am going to change the "date" field to "workdate". Is there a search and replace method that will search the complete program including queries, forms and reports.

force current year
I have the textbox = date() set, but sometimes they enter time for different days other than the current day. I just want an alert or procedure that keeps any year other than current year from being entered.

Force Current Year
Good morning.
I am running a timecard program in Access 2007 and it seems that the users have trouble entering the correct year when entering the date in the date field. Date field entry format is mm/dd/yy and is displayed as mm/dd/yyyy.
How can I force the current year to be entered?
Thanks

Documenting Revisions
Good Morning.
I am using Access 2007....Is there any way to document revisions and changes located within the program? I know there is a documenter but it is large and cumbersome and nearly useless to me for tracking changes. I suppose I could just do a spreadsheet or something.
Thanks

Actually, I am not aware of a more morbid interpretation. ...interesting.
At any rate, I have a report that computes various totals of data based on a date range that is entered by the user. I would like to include a YTD calculation without any addtional user input.

thanks...with the resulting responses...I knew that the query was the most efficient way to get calculations... but I had forgotten that I knew.
