    Can you give me a few titles? Most of the books I have seen assume you know a great deal more than most do, OR, they keep it so simple that what they tell you won't accomplish much. I want one which gives good examples.

      Is there a book that explains VB 6 in English, with good, easy to follow examples???
      Most of the books I have seen insist on giving generic examples which do not make it clear what parts of the code are optional, which are necessary, and exactly what each part does.
      I'm a teacher, and I have found that saying that commands CAN be used to play sound is not enough. Show several examples, with slight variations, explaining the differences....

        Video in VB 6

        Can someone give exact code for playing a video with Windows Media Player in VB 6. I asked this once before, and was told to put the following code in the Form Load...

        wmp = name of the component
        wmp.url = path of the video

        I loaded the Windows Media Player (named WindowsMediaPla yer1) onto the form.
        I then placed the following code in the Form Load...

        wmp = WindowsMediaPla yer1
        wmp.url...

          One of the replies to my question said to put the following code in the form load..

          wmp = name of the component
          wmp.url = (here is the path of the video you want to play)

          This is too cryptic for a total novice.

          What exactly is the component? Do I need to load Windows Media Player into my program?? How?
          And, how do I get the video to actually play? I want it to play when I click a button....

            OK...I'm just dense. If I want the video (named video114) to play in a picture box (named Picture1), the video is located at H:\Photos&Video s\SimpsonVideoC lips
            and I want it to play when I click a button, what's the code??? Thanks....

              What code do you use to do what you do? If I want to play a video named
