Hello.
I installed windows xp embedded tools and database. Installed discs containing sp1, sp2, FP2007 and then SP3 in the same order. After installing, I tried to run all the tools. Everything worked fine except 'Target Designer'. WHen I start this tool, it fails with the message,
'This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact applications support team for information'. How can I get rid of this error and run successfully.

Have you updated your windows XP to the latest stuff? Have you downloaded the latest .net framework stuff or redistributable ? If none of that works I would contact the technical support for the application and they will help you find out what is missing.
