hidden folders are not being displayed

sir,
sir the hidden folders in the system sre not being displayed.
earlier the folder option was also not coming but i read your reply to one of the same problem so i corrected it but now the hidden folders are not being displayed.
i m using windows xp service pack 2

In explorer, tools->folder options->view:
Is "show hidden files and folders" selected

And if you are looking in system directories:
Is "Hide protected operating system files" unchecked.
