    Folder will not delete...

I have recently had my Desktop attacked by a Virus, I think a version of the Antivirus 2008. Norton failed to deal with it so I have cleaned most of it out using Net tips from forums. However, I still have an Folder off of the root that I cannot delete. It is named 8401d8637ab35a4 08a609e2d2c with a sub-folder called SP2. Niether will delete. Can anybody offer any advice?

    Hello,

Download Unlocker and follow instructions on the page.

If Unlocker doesnot solves your problem then you may need to boot into some LiveCD of non-Windows OS (FreeDOS/Linux/Unix etc) to mount the drive containing the virus and manually delete it.

    HOPE THIS HELPS........

If suppose this file is not getting used by the current operating system than you can delete this folder.Start windows in safe mode then try deleting it .Probably this could help you.

Some of the files like this cant be deleted. Try some registry remover tools. Other wise we have to format.

you can use some tools like "tune up utilities" and use tune up shedder to delete the folder or you can also use :glary utilities" which works exactly in the same way.
