Windows Installer

Hello Techies..
I want to know about windows installer in services in msconfig,

I have one doubt if we disable this is it possible to install anything,

please the known "gem", explain step by step please....

1. Don't disable random services.
2. Set it to manual. If you disable it you can't install stuff. If it's manual it will run when you install stuff.

Glad you like it. It really helped me optimize XP boot speed and size. I can actually run XP Home Edition SP2 on a network with 128MB memory installed (just a test, but it worked). And, boy, do my machines come up quickly!
