windows installer pops up all the time Microsoft Office

Please help! I get a screen popping up all the time that says
    Windows Installer
    preparing to install...
and it has a cancel button.
It comes up when I go into my email program, when I want to write an email, when I get online, and when I go to many different sites online. When it comes up is stays on the screen for 30-60 sec, whether I click cancel or not. Sometimes it comes up 2 or three times in a row also.
I have attempted to fix it myself, with the very limited computer knowledge/understanding that I have, with no success.
My computer is only a year old, running Windows XP Home Edition 2002 Version Service Pack 2. Not sure what other system info you may need to help me figure this out.

    Thank you thank you!!!

Sounds to me like your microsoft office is trying to install some features that are unavailable on your hard drive, insert your office cd and let it install.

When the installer comes up what is it installing what program what if anything do you see it installing?

Let us know if this did for you.

    Regards, Cyberdyne.

Simple, completley uninstall MS Office. Take it all out, full uninstall. Go to C:/Prog Files/Microsoft... and delete anything office related. Use something like HiJack this and take out any MS Office Reg Keys. Make it look like office never existed.

        REBOOT

Now reinstall office, and ta da .... no pop ups

          hi,

It is easy to insert your office cd and install Microsoft Office completely. That's ok! I met the same problem ago.

I tried that with mine, but it didn't fix it, annoying as I have both discs installed fully. But if that doesn't work, starting afresh is always a good option.

I have the same problem, the only difference is windows installers pops up all the time I go to START => My Computer. It tries to install another software called MindMap Manager. I think that's a bug in Windows Installer.

But I found that if I give the account I'm using admin access, it stops popping up windows installer and everything is fine. It seems like when there is no write access somewhere, like in my case with guest account, it popps up that freaking window. Once I give full access, everything is fine.

So if your account doesn't have admin rights, you can try to switch from Limited account to Administrative account. See if it will work.

              Let me know.

I had the exactly same problem.
I figured it was regarding the language bar.
I fixed it following the steps below:
Right click taskbar >toolbars>che ck the language bar.
the language bar should be displayed. right click the language bar and go to options/properties. Another window will open with language bar properties. Select the Handwriting recognition and click remove. Select the Voice recognition and click remove.
Go to the Advanced tab and check the 2nd checkbox to disable support for language bar. Click Apply and OK

You should not see the installshield again :)

                          Dear Angela,
                          kindly follow up these steps,
uninstall the office 2003 first and instal office 2003.for this
run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility , and then reinstall Office. To do this, follow these
steps: 1. Download, install, and then run the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to remove the Windows Installer registry settings that are associated with your Office installation. The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center:

                          msicuu2.exe (http://download.micros oft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe)
                          uninstall off2k3
                          then install OFF2k3.

How do you uninstall MS Office once you've removed the Windows Installer for Office? I noticed that once I removed the Windows Installer for Office using msicuu2.exe, Office is no longer listed in the 'Add/Remove Programs', but it still appears in 'C:\Program Files\'.

My problem is that Microsoft Office 2003 works just fine when I'm working as the Administrator, however whenever I switch to a standard user account on my computer is when I experience the issues with Windows Installer. I've tried the solutions provided in this thread, but to no avail. I'm just about at my wit's end, can anyone offer help?
