The Network Adapter could not establish the connection

The place where my husband works gave us the information to put on our home computor so we can change benefits, look at paychecks, etc. I have gotten to the home page but it will not let me do anything and gives me this error:

EJB Exception: The Network Adapter could not edstablish the Connection. Can anyone help me with this and tell mehow to fix this problem. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

Is your network cable is plugged in? Is your network card is blinking showing activity???

Is your adapter properly configured with an IP?

      Best regards!

Yes, we can help. If you are able to get to the webpage it means that your internet is working and therefore your network adapter is working as well. Also if you posted that message from that same computer, your network card must work. But just to double check try to go to www.cnn.com and www.msn.com and www.google.com and see if you can browse through those pages. I think that your real problem is the website of the company that you are trying to connect to. They might have a broken link or might requier a secure connection (since you are looking at paycheks) or maybe a plugin, such as java or some sort of activex control. So for now just let us know if you can surf the internet in general and we will go from there.
