Well, something fabulous has happened. It was a few days ago that I had gone through my major attempts at getting youtube to play on my Mozilla browser (all of which only succeded in allowing me to play videos as long as I watched on IE), and then suddenly tonight, I was like, "hey, lets just check it out. Maybe something magically has happened."

I went to the site, on my Mozilla browser, not even the tiniest bit optimistic that a change had occured. I felt a little silly just for checking.

But, magically, it worked! YAY! I did nothing, so I'm ASSUMING YouTube has done something. I don't know, but whatever happned, worked. Yay.

      All,
Hello, I am a first time poster.
I have had problems running YouTube for the last couple of weeks. I tried pretty much everything that has been mentioned in this thread. It wasn't until I read that clearing the temporary internet files may help that I had magic happen. After fighting with javascript, firewalls, anti-virus and everything else you could think of, all it took was clearing the temporary files. I am now back up and running. Wow, I didn't realize I was so addicted to YouTube!

      Thanks for the help!!!

Here's the problem I've had: when I click on ANY Youtube video, the video will say "We're sorry, this video is no longer available." OR, SOME videos will have the loading symbol in the middle that won't stop loading. OR, SOME videos that are only a few seconds long (say, 10-30) will play just fine.

This is the exact same porblem i have! its been hapening for atleast a few months now. Ive done everything i could, and nothing works. but strangly enough, i thing i might have figured out something important. I have a cable/dsl ISP, and use a wireless router (D-Link something other) and tried on my laptop (vista) and my parents PC (XP) and neither work. Until, I went on the Internet Channel on my Wii, and voila! it works for every video! So, my conclusion is, either something is screwed up with the flash player or youtube, or some of our routers or ISP's arent working/incompatible with some beta program (possibly youtube, they launched a beta player not too long ago). either way, it will probably work on any game console if you try.

i have done all this aswell, it seems it might just be youtubes problem. i have even rebooted my computer and reinstalled everything and it still doesn't work.

My solution: choose any video, press ctrl+F5 on your keyboard and magic!

Still the same for me here as well. Tried it all. Even my techie friends are at a loss. Sudden loss of YouTube is still a puzzle. I give it a hopeful try from time to time, but no luck. I bought a small ASUS EEE a few weeks ago with Linux and Firefox. I have no problem with YouTube on it. I would prefer to access it on my 22 inch monitor rather than the 7 inch ASUS screen, but I'm happy with what I can get. I'm going to keep checking here on this forum. Surely, it will be solved. I agree, too, that it's frustrating not to be able to contact YouTube.

so. after failing at all other suggestions.. except once the f5+ctrl option worked.. i read somewhere else that YOU HAVE TO DISABLE THE GOOGLE WEB ACCELERATOR. so i did. now whenever i come across a youtube video it still has the pretext of 'javascript and flash player' bull but the video works anyway, both in standard and in high quality. fkn thank god. : )

Thanks so much I had tried everything, but you're suggestion worked, I have an old version of Norton 2003 which I update every year. For those looking for Ad Blocker just double click on the firewall symbol and it will come up with the menu and you can then see Ad Blocker and turn it off temporarily. I'm now going to see if Facebook works because that has been giving me similar problems.

                        Thanks once again.

It worked! I had been completely turning off Norton which is current. That only worked to watch videos I had saved to favorites at YouTube. I tried turning off only "ad blocking" and now YouTube is totally back in action after all these months! Can't believe it. I will still continue to look in here to see what's happening and if there are changes. Thanks everyone.

As far as I can tell yes. I went to Java and flash media and downloaded the most recent ones. How do I make sure my javascript is turned on? My Limewire did start to work though YouTube still isn't playing videos and still has same error message that either my java script is off or I need the new flash macromedia player. I have the new flash. I'm at my wits end.
