How do you put a password on a delete button if you don't want anyone deleting any records on a form - is this possible?

    Hi,
If you have a main login/password form designed, you can call that form when a user presses the delete button. Then authenticate accordingly.
    Good luck

At login create 2 kinds of login:

          1. Admin users
          2. Normal users

and make the delete button available only for admin users, not for others.

Well I figured out how to do this but I still have a problem. How would I make a way for the user to create his/her own password? Is that possible?

Yes it is possible but be sure the admin should monitor all the password of the user. : )

I've solved this problem by using an access database, and some home made encryption on the password field.

A much simpler way of doing it would be to use an input box.
When the user clicks on the button a input box appears....if the password equals the input then it deletes the selected items.

Just suggestion ...also depends on the size and use of the program

There is a post on reading passwords and username from a txt document (that can be encrypted) in the Howtos VB section.
I believe with some alterations to the code you find there, you could store the passwords and usernames. It probably requires some editing but it's nothing too difficult.
