    Heya, Jenna. Welcome to TSDN!

You posted this in the Articles section. I'll go ahead and move it to the Forum where an Expert will be more likely to find it.

Changed thread title to better describe the problem (did you know that threads whose titles that do not follow the Posting Guidelines actually get FEWER responses?).

So you haven't tried to search "email" on Google or something? Anything such as "sendmail" or "notes"?

          Heya, Jenna.

Of course, on Mac OS X, we have Mail.app.

I had never even heard of Outlook until I was 20, and I still have yet to actually use it 0:)

The biggest competitor may soon be Google. Thunderbird, from Mozilla, is a very popular email program but not on Outlook's level. I think some of you guys are thinking of an email only program. Thunderbird is starting to get some pretty neat extensions like Firefox has, though.

There is an open source program, which I can't recall, that is similar to Outlook.

The real competitor is eM Client, but not good because it has poor customer support and in free version only can support 2 account.

If you want to use only POP3 and Web based account then Thunderbird is good.

The Similar type of Outlook is "Windows Live Mail" client which look and feel is same as Outlook 2010.

But Outlook really built for Large enterprise use with exchange server.

              Thanks !!!

I assume, you're referring to programs which will allow composing and sending emails for professional/company use (and not personal one).
The closest with feature is Thunderbird from Mozilla. I have been using it for quite a long time now and it’s amazing (however, it lacks few awesome features available in Outlook).

For personal use, Gmail and Yahoo Mail is perfect.
