PHP Beginners - From Where To Start

PHP is a wonderful programing language with infinite capabilities.

I made a 4 weeks intensive course, and the teacher told us a lot of thing, and now I am a little confuse, because I do not have practice. I understand a little bit the principals but now I don't now how to continue.

Is somewhere on the net a php step by step tutorial to show you like at school first learn this and then this and so on. And where can I find problems for beginners that I can make them like at school ?.
    Something like a schedule.

    Thank You

    Hi. Welcome to The Scripts!

There are a bunch of PHP tutorials floating around the internet. You could try a Google search and see if you find anything good.
This one seems promising, Introduction to PHP, at w3schools.com.

I always find the best way to learn something is to try to do it, so I would try writing something, like say a simple photo album or something.

If you haven't already, visit php.net, every PHP developers best friend! (besides The Scripts, of course!)
There you can find info on practically every function, class and everything that PHP has to offer.

There are also a couple of articles here at The Scripts that you may find interesting.

And as always, if you have any questions or problems you need help with, feel free to post them here and we will do our best to help you out.

      Heya, Cojo. Welcome to TSDN!

I have always found that I learn best when I pick a project, nevermind if I know how to do it or not, and then learn what I have to to complete it.

Bonus points if you are building onto an existing framework or API because then you can see how somebody else does it, and that will give you a good idea of stuff that you'd like to try (and in some cases, stuff that you definitely want to avoid!).

I completly agree with pbmods! And for the same purpose I have written a turorial on Build PHP Database Driven Websites with a gaming website project in hand.

I have tried to match the "Microsoft Tutorials" pattern where they give you a blank project and teach you how to fill it....

Let me know if you found it useful!!!!
