Originally posted by Colloid SnakeYour ISP is orange? Are they an ISP, or is that a type? Depending on your setup, you should be able to use a wireless router with almost any ISP, though you may need a modem of some sort in between...
Yes, Orange is an ISPComment

There isn't normally any problem using any router with any ISP- except that the ISP may have restricted you from using anyother router - this normally doesn't happen.
I've used router from different companies with NTL as well as with Telewest- didn't have any problem.
To be sure, best is to phone phone Orange to double-confirm.

Is it a BT home Hub? I see no reson why I BT home-hub shouldn't work with another ADSL provider. However BT provide automatic software upgrades (most recently fixing a security hole) for HomeHubs, these happen automatically in the background when the HomeHub is connected to BT Broadband.
If you are connected to Orange I do not know if you would get these updates.Comment

i had exactly the same problem - while waiting for my Orange LiveBox to arrive.
the homehubs ARE tied to BT, but after some digging on google, there are workarounds..

i spent 3 hours one morning running through all this, only for the LiveBox to be delivered when i was about 90% of the way through : ) so can't confirm if it works, but from feedback, it does look like it.
hope this helps
