    Can we create a ADS in an windows XP o/s.

    AD's means a lot of things in the IT world, could you possibly define it a bit more? cheers :)

      AD means Actine Directory service.

        ahh right, though thats what you meant? although, do you not mean active directory? if this is what you meant then the answer is yeah. you can install the local administrative tools for administering a windows server 2003 on your xp machine. in there you can great all kinds of mmc's for other users, e.g. create a password reset for a particular team, with only the team leader having access to do so. also, a thing we use, is you can reset passwords using excel. you import all the user account information into an excel file, open the excel file, change a password for the particular user, and it goes back to the AD and changes it for you. pretty nifty stuff. i think the program to install is called adminpak.msi.

          I installed that adminpak.msi but it does not working it shows error.My computer is in network and presently it is under work group or in domain.
          In which adminpak.msi is to be installed i.e. either in work group or in domain.
          please send reply as early as possible.
