So I've been stuck on this all day.
Host computer is Windows7ultimat e-64bit. Visual Studio 2008, VMwareWorkstati on7.
VMware guest OS: WinXPpro-32 bit.
Remote debugging works fine.
VMware guest OS: Win7ult-32 bit.
Remote debugging gets as far as: Msvsmon started a new server named 'VMDebug@VMwin7 x32. Waiting for new connection..."
but no new connection is created from Visual Studio, which then times out saying that the debugging session in the VM failed to start.
I have been through every back-alley forum I can Google. I know all the right security settings that I have found documented AND THEY WORK for a guest OS of XP.
I just can't find the missing piece to this puzzle in Windows 7.
Anyone else using VMware to do Visual Studio debugging? Any hints or tricks out there? When I finally make this work there is going to be a Insights article so nobody else has to waste a day on this.
