cant ping telnet

    cant ping telnet

    im using suse.. and trying to run telnet service..the service is running but after a while(3-4 days), telnet cant ping anymore.. everything is correctly configured, and nothing is changed in that period of time.. what can i do to make the telnet active till i want to stop the service?

      Do you mean you cannot ping the server, you cannot connect to the telnet process, or something else?

        Do like following

        $telnet <ipaddress of your server>

        Post here the output,then we will go for next step.

          i am using FC5.My broadband providers have a proxy server. and for that reason i can not ping or telnet or connect to net from linux. But i can browse the net using the web browsers by setting the proxy server addresses. But where in the linux i can configure my proxy setting and ping or telnet from my pc???
          i am a newbie and hi to all.
