"Best" is a subjective term but I think that if visit sites that market some books you will get some helpful books to buy. There are other books you can download but the fact that you talked about the "market" , then I will leave it there.

Then there is the whole question of whether a "SCJP" certification makes any difference. I've sat on hiring committees so I know they ignored them -- because the cert had no correlation with knowledge or ability or any other ranking of candidates.

Your mileage may vary, as the saying goes. They seem to be of the utmost importance in India, but must less important everywhere else in the world.

The best way to tell is to look at the job descriptions in your area and see what they mention. From what I've seen, experience using the desired technologies is what they look for.
