There are many approaches to this but read more about Sockets and RMI. CORBA works but its kind of tough for a begginner. Attempt to write code and when you are stuck , you can ask the experts on this forum....Leave a comment:

One soultion may be to use the Character class and then checking if the characters in a string are digits or not .

The JFileChooser in java works for both viewving folders and files just like any file dialog . You want to view the files that would have been exported from the remote machine to the local machine , right?...Leave a comment:

Oh , you want to build the e-mail server and not the e-mail client ? Are you considering implementing your won POP3 and IMAP or it will support one protocol?If one protocol , which protocol is that? Or your mail server will retireve e-mail from another mail server e.g Linux Server or Microsoft Exchange. Looks interesting , will definitely wait to run that one ....Leave a comment:
