How do I add two distinct backgrounds (left and right) off the header?

I'm trying to add the black background you see in the navigation menu to the right of the menu, so I'd have logo+left in yellow and menu+right in black.

do you try this before? set a width of 100% for the yellow background and and put another>?

I'm a beginner, I'm not sure what you mean by "put another >".

Could you be more specific and tell me in which tag or id I would have to use what?

As of now, all I need is to have black background to the right of the search bar. Would I have to create another <div>, if so, where in the header file exactly?
