    Redirect HTTPS to HTTP

Is it necessary to have a certificate to do a redirect from HTTPS to HTTP. We want to handle people trying to use HTTPS which we don't support, to HTTP. They currently get a "Page Not Found" error using HTTPS. We would prefer not to set up a certificate on our load balancer to do this. We are using NetScalers.

Yes, you would need a signed certificate, see HTTPS. Use a 301 Redirect, not a meta refresh for the redirection.

What webserver are you using? Apache can handle this with mod_rewrite.

Obs, you're right. I forgot about mod_rewrite. That would do the trick.
