CSS is what styles HTML, with CSS we wouldn't be able to position things, change the color of text, make drop down menu navagations like the one here on the scripts. Pages would be dull and not a pleasure to look at.

    Thanks, Death

Style sheets (CSS) are a compilation of style elements (font style & color, text size, background color, page layout parameters ..... and so on) to accompany HTML/XHTML documents in order to separate content from presentation. Style sheets can be embedded in Web pages or externally linked.

Why should content be separated from presentation? -- HTML was not designed to effect presentation -- document layout -- but rather it is a language for rendering text and hyperlinks in a logical manner. Presentation elements/attributes (such as Table, Background color, Align, etc.) have been added since its inception. A great feature of externally linked Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) is the ease of page layout management they afford.

        Hi,
The excellent thing about CSS is you make one site once (with all the html and php stuff), then next time you want another site, you copy over the site as it is, and just change the CSS and hey presto you have a site up within days.

If you used the attributes of the elements you would have to more or less start all over again next time you want a different site.
