    Borders and images in tables.

    I've started building a website, and I've encountered some problems with the tables. Two, actually. The first: I can't get the borders away, I can make them invisible (border="0"), but they're still there taking space. Second one: the images I use as background for the cells aren't streched but tiled (maybe not to see on non-widescreen monitors), how can I solve this?
    If you want to see it, look here.

    Great site Yarr!

    For the background image problem in your cells have you tried adding this property.

    [CODE=css] background-repeat:no-repeat;[/CODE]

    As for the table borders i'm not entirely sure. I would try adding this to your CSS

    [CODE=css] * {
    margin:0;
    padding:0;
    }
    [/CODE]

    I don't know if this will have any effect on this, but if you don't mind me asking why are you using a table layout instead of an unordered list?

    Thanks, Death

      Hmm.. You will have to simplicate that a bit, I never understood CSS very well. And unordered lists instead of tables, I have no idea how to start on that, And I always tought tables were the best way to get control over your layout.

        Ignore what I said about using an unordered list I was thinking of something else. As for the other also ignore it.

        The problem is coming from your image not your table. For some reason I can't think of how to fix this. I'll remember soon enough and then I'll post it.

        Until then you should try making your page valid HTML, and you really should add a DOC Type (stupid IE and its quirks mode).

        Thanks, Death

            I do but where I am currently the server (which isn't mine and not worth getting sued over) blocks FF because it isn't allowed through the server only the default IE..... it also blocks any website that trys to connect to a server, and it blocks messenger. So i'm forced to use the browser I loath with a piercing, burning, genocidal passion.

              Hi,

              As for the first prob, try
              Code:
              td,tr{
                  padding: 0;
                  }
              Regarding images, set their width. It might solve the prob.

                Didn't help, and as for the imges, they're cell-backgrounds (except for the one in the left-top-corner).

                  Problem solved. I just had to set the cellspacing-attribute of my table to 0.
