search engine problem

Hello.
I am working on a web site which somebody had been doing,
but left before he finishes his new web site project.

The boss says he was not using database, and a VB program
generates html files automatically from a document.

When it generates files, it also create searchcode.html file.

Unfortunatelly I could not find the php code for this search engine.

Is there any way to search in a html code like this below;;;;;(--;
