Metatags before <html> tag

    Metatags before <html> tag

    hi everyone,

    i have a question about place of metatags.

    i've started to seo for active webpage of our client(which is not coded by me) ,but website is very bad coded then i'm a lazy programmer : ) there are so many front pages and but i have a connection include page to use print metatags..

    so, what if i put metatags before the <html> tag? is it work for search engines? (especially google and yahoo)

    Sorry but I have no idea what your asking....no offence but please try and use better grammer.

    As far as I know you can't use meta tags outside of the html tags, but yes you can use meta tags for search engines. here's a link to learn about the meta tag.

        Putting meta tags before the html tag is invalid, causes IE to go into quirks, and will probably be ignored by search engines since it's in the wrong place.
