    Have a question

Is it possible to write a script that will automatically add/remove meta tags so that certain keywords will cause a hit on Google, Yahoo, etc.only at certain times of the day? I'm not sure which forum this belongs in, I'm an HTML newbie. Thanks for any help you can offer.

    Hi,

The results that are returned by search engines are based on what is viewed by spiders that have previously visited your site (e.g. googlebot for google).

You can request that the spiders to not visit certain pages, for example a basket page on an e-commerce site in the robots.txt file, however this would not enable a timeframe to be specified for when the pages appear in search results.

You would not be able to request the time of day that organic search results are displayed. If you are paying for adverts against search terms, such as through adwords or overture then you should be able to define times that the ads are allowed to be displayed.
