Here's a question, and for more than just the OP: Does it matter? I know that the TrueDoc stuff was at least once hailed as "the coming thing" and the MS equivalent (Embedded Open Type, aka EOT) was too, but do they even work at all these days?

I just did a quick look-around and it looks like EOT is still supported by recent IE browsers, but not by, e.g., Firefox or Opera and TrueDoc doesn't seem to be supported by any current browsers. AFAICT, the technology is dead. You can use EOT if (and this is a big if) you don't care about anything but IE and are happy to ignore all the folks who use Macs or Linux or who install non-IE browsers on Windows. (I'll refrain from ranting about such web-designers.)

So am I all wet? I know I could be wrong about this, but it looks dead from where I sit.
