    Opacity causing problems for text boxes

    Hi There,

    I'm new here, and new to CSS and Web development. Before I start, let me just say I did exhaust all resources available to me, including google before coming here so I am really hoping one of the gurus here can help me out :).

    I have a text control in a transparent window. It looks fine, and works ok for the most part but when I enter text that is longer than the length of the text control it scrolls ok. BUT when I use the left arrow to go back to the begining of what I typed, the text won't scroll. I noticed that if I hold the left arrow until I am all the way to the left and wait a bit, then the control updates.

    I can't imagine this being a rare problem. It seems like something that everyone should be encountering.

    Let me also say that this only happens in IE, not on firefox. Firfox works great.

    Please help

    Not off the top of my head. A link or the complete code might be in order for us to look at.

      I also like to play with transparent controls,
      and I also faced the same problem.
      I am really looking forward to the solution to this answer.
      I think this is a bug in IE.

        Hi,

        Thank you for reading my problem. The CSS code is straightforward :

        .mainbox {
        width: 250px;
        background-color: #DBDCEF;
        FILTER: alpha(opacity=8 5);
        moz-opacity: .9;
        opacity:.9;
        text-align: center;
        font-size: 11px;
        font-weight: bold;
        }

        If I remove the opacity lines, then everything works great.

        Tried to remove CSS opacity and make the background image transparent instead but that makes the controls opaque which is not what I am after. Any help would be really appreciated.

        Thank You
