Trying to learn XML, XSL, Javascript, SQL & ISS - HELP!!!!

Hello, I am new here - a young single mother :)

I could use some pointers and/or advice ...

Does anyone know where I can find any information on any of these languages. I am interviewing for a very entry level position as a web designer. They would prefer that the right candidate have knowledge of HTML, XML, XSL, JSP, Javascript, SQL & ISS (Internet Information server) ... They also want the candidate to know Dreamweaver and some Flash. I know Frontpage.

Is there anyplace on the internet where I can take a crash course and gain some quick knowledge? Pay courses or free courses? A lot of what I know now is self taught from books I have read.

Are there any good books that I can learn from easily? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can teach myself these languages and be able to get an entry level position or better?

Any advice on books, classes/courses, or ways to learn own my own would be so much appreciated. I understand it all and I'm a quick learner. Very internet and computer savvy.

They have quite a few of the tutorials that might help you. They are great for fundamentals.

Frontpage and Dreamweaver are both WYSIWYG programs and are pretty similar when it comes to designing. You should be able to feel it out pretty easily. I did.

As for books, the O'Reilly series seems to be pretty good. They do a lot of definitive guides on a lot of those languages.

A reassuring note though, I got my entry level web developer position only with a good knowledge HTML and vague idea of CSS (I was still the most qualified!). Being certified in all of those languages is not an entry-level thing and I think companies sometimes forget that.

I second this one (I don't know the other one so it may be good I just don't know).

You give one of the things you want to learn about as SQL, however there are as many different SQL dialects as the are databases, MS SQL, MySql, PostGrSQL, Oracle (and others) all use their own slight different version of SQL.

They all have some features in common (and I think there may be a ANSI SQL standard) but none of them are the same.

So that makes that bit of the question hard to answer unless you can say which one you are interested in.

Just forget it. This job interview is coming up within a week or two and, if you don't know this stuff now, you can't learn it well enough to fake it for the interview.

If they set such requirements for entry-level web designers, they are either out of their mind, or they know as much about the whole thing as does this nice lady... why on Earth would a DESIGNER need to know IIS?! or SQL... I would not even bother applying to them...
