Is it bad to use template based model for site optimization?

    Hi All,

I want to use dreamweaver templates for globtier.com

Is this could be bad for site optimization?

Is there any risk to loose page rank?

Some of SEO experts are suggesting to avoid template based model.

Let me know your thoughts on it.

    Thanks
    Jits

It's really just a question of how much you are willing to do with the template. If you view the template as only a "graphics package" to save a lot of creation time and are then willing to employ normal SEO strategies you can be very successful. It is virtually impossible to envision buying a website that is optimized, much less for your specific target market, so you will be the one to make it happen.

As always, the number one thing to avoid would be a template that has excessive Flash - especially a Flash landing page. Otherwise you should be fine. No matter whether you start from scratch or use a template it all comes down to how well the finished product meets optimization standards.
