Sorry about that, Andre -- I had just been looking in an FP newsgroup
and thought I was still there.

One other thought -- upload it as "htaccess" and then rename it as
".htaccess" -- I remember that trick working with my free ISP account
back when I still used it.

If that doesn't work, I'd be looking to change web hosts, too. I'm
not familiar with midPhase.com but I just took a quick look at their
site and it does look interesting.

    I'm using Powweb.com http://www.powweb.com (or use a referral link
from my site, if you're in a generous mood). I get 10GB space,
5GB/day throughput, up to 5 MySQL databases, up to 6 domains (one main
one and the others handled via .htaccess redirection), and a lot more.
No shell access, but I can use PHP's system call to do things like
    gunzipping files.

It is also fun to leave a new image at the old name -- a new image with
a message that reveals the hotlinker to his audience. Give your sense
        of humor loose rein.

You can either make the old filenames symbolic links to a single new
image, or just make some copies of the new image and give them the old
        images' filenames.
