    import/export address book

i have opened a second e-mail address, and want to get a copy of my contacts list in the first one, into the second one.

i have read the instructions provided by the new server, and i think i can follow them. but before i try it, i need to know:

will i lose the entries in my contacts list in the one account when i migrate them? or will there be the complete list in each account?

    thanks, sambacat

What mail systems are we talking about here? We need to know that at the least.

Generally, if your mail system has the ability to import information from another, then you won't lost the entries in the other.

    Regards,

    Jeff

okay, good to know i won't lose things.

now, i'm running into trouble making the transfer. oh, first, my pc uses windows vista, and i'm trying to export from yahoo to gmail, or import into gmail from yahoo, following their individual instructions.

i have tried it both as an xslx, and as a csv.
the file name appears in the "browse" window, then i click on import (or export, depending which way i'm going). and then i get the message "sorry, we can't recognize the file format."

so, somewhere, i've missed a step. where i often goof-up is in the browse steps, but this did seem fairly straight-forward.

suggestions? and thanks for keeping on...... sambacat
