    Labor is non-taxable...

Hello, on my database I cannot figure how to adjust to following expression =nz([Parts Total])+nz([Labor Total])+CLng((nz([Labor Total])+nz([Parts Total]))*nz([SalesTaxRate])*100)/100 to not calculate sales tax on labor. What adjustments should be made?
    Thank you

you need to calculate your parts and tax first then add your labor.

Anything in () are performed first.

how many parts do you have from what I see you have two named nz(parts total) are the one in the same? if so you can write it like this.

=nz(([Parts Total]*nz[SalesTaxRate])*100/100) +nz([Labor Total]+CLng nz[Labor Total]) what this will do is take your parts total and do the sales tax and then add your labor together and then add both pieces together.

I am not all the good with how many () go where and I usually end up putting some in and taking some out to get it to work. IF anyone else see a problem please help..I think for the most part this should work or the theory is there. I love Crystal reports for writing formulas...so much easier.

That did not work...sorry :( I need the expression to total the Parts Total (if there are parts used)with sales tax and the labor total (with no sales tax, if labor is billed).
          Thanks!
